| Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Evaluation |
| This evaluation is meant to determine if the child meets diagnostic criteria for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger’s, nonverbal learning disability or pervasive developmental disorder. |
An ASD evaluation may be needed if any of the following conditions exist:
- Poor social skills with peers; reports having no friends
- Delay in the development of language; unusual language patterns
- Repetitive or self stimulatory behaviors
- Seems to prefer playing alone; retreats into his or her “own world”
- Difficulty starting or maintaining a conversation
- Develops unusual preoccupations, interests or obsessions
- Becomes disturbed at the slightest change in routine or rituals
