• Golf Classic Raises $65,000 - Tournament Record Brings Total to over $400,000 10/17/2011
The Hillcrest Educational Centers’10th Annual Fall Golf Classic held on October 6, netted $65,000, a record fundraising amount for the event. This is the sixth straight year Hillcrest has netted more than $50,000 from this annual event, bringing the tournament total after ten years to over $400,000.
The 18-hole scramble, sponsored by MountainOne Financial Partners, brought in a record 200 golfers to Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown and Donnybrook Country Club in Lanesborough, as Hillcrest expanded the tournament to two courses for the third year in a row.
Hillcrest officials were delighted with the turnout and the support provided by the community. President Gerard Burke said, “We believe this tournament allows us to get the community involved in supporting
Hillcrest programs and learning more about the important work we do for kids and families in the Berkshires. A special thanks to the sponsors, golfers and or course, MountainOne, our new title sponsor this year.”
Rob Abel, President & CEO of True North Financial Services, a subsidiary of MountainOne Financial Partners said, “We were delighted to be the title sponsor for this event. As MountainOne expands to the new Pittsfield Economic Development Authority site at Williams Stanley Business Park, we were looking for a non-profit organization that truly makes a difference in Pittsfield and the Berkshires. Partnering with the highly respected Hillcrest Educational Centers is a great match. The work they do with the children and families is exceptional and True North and the companies of MountainOne are pleased to join forces with them.”
“Gross and Net” team prizes, “Closest to the Pin” and “Long Drive” winners were awarded at both courses. Hillcrest students participated at both courses, joining each team to putt with them as they arrived on the 9th and 18th green.
Presenting sponsor for the Fall Golf Classic was MountainOne Financial Partners. Additional lead sponsors included: USI Insurance; Cornerstone Telephone Company; Commercial Distributing/Coors Light; Futures HealthCore; Action Ambulance Service; and Climate Heating and Cooling, Inc.
