• HEC Designated as Beneficiary of Local Call-In Radio Show 09/21/2010
Hillcrest Educational Centers has been designated the beneficiary of Well Talk, a local health, fitness & wellness call-in talk show broadcast in the Berkshires.
Hillcrest President Gerard Burke said, "We were delighted to hear that Avi Dresner, the show's host, chose Hillcrest to promote on his talk show, Well Talk. To have an opportunity to share the story of what we do at Hillcrest is greatly appreciated - and to receive financial support is a wonderful bonus."
The call-in show will be broadcast live on WSBS 860 AM/94.1 FM Great Barrington on Tuesday, September 28 from 9:05 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and will also be streaming live on www.wsbs.com. The show will then rebroadcast in Pittsfield on AM 1420 WBEC Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 11:04 a.m., in Sheffield on 91.7 FM WBSL and in Sharon on WHDD 91.9 FM/1020 AM on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. Hillcrest Educational Centers Director of Development Steve Conroy and Housatonic Academy Program Director Allison Billard will be the guests on the show.
Dresner said, "I do a charity show once per quarter to benefit a different local nonprofit organization and donate all sponsorship money and pledges from those shows. To date, I have donated over $2,000 to local charities. It is just my way of giving back to the community."
Proceeds from the talk show will benefit the autism program at Housatonic Academy in Pittsfield. Housatonic Academy is the area's only therapeutic day school and serves students from Berkshire County. An expansion project at Housatonic Academy was completed this past June and has enabled Hillcrest Educational Centers to provide more services for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Businesses interested in sponsoring the show can contact Dresner directly at avi@WellTalkRadio.com, or (413) 446-6611.? Individuals interested in making pledges will be able to call in and do so during the live broadcast on September 28, or by sending Dresner an email pledge.
