• Fall Golf Classic Raises $55,000 10/01/2009
Hillcrest Educational Centers’ 8th Annual Fall Golf Classic held on September 25, netted $55,000 to benefit Hillcrest’s educational programs, the fourth straight year, Hillcrest has netted more than $50,000 from this annual event.
The 18-hole scramble brought in a record 192 golfers to Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown and Donnybrook Country Club in Lanesborough, as Hillcrest expanded the tournament to two courses for the first time.
Hillcrest President Gerard Burke said, “We are grateful to see the generous response Hillcrest has received with our annual fundraiser. Clearly, adding a second course to accommodate the ever-increasing number of participants proved to be very beneficial.”
“Gross and Net” team prizes, “Closest to the Pin” and “Long Drive” winners were awarded at both courses. Auction items included a Tom Brady-autographed football selling for $1,000. Hillcrest students participated at both courses, joining each team to putt with them as they arrived on the 9th and 18th green. A team photograph was taken with each student.
Presenting sponsors for the fall golf classic were TD Banknorth and Salco Construction Company, Inc. General Contractors, both in Pittsfield. Additional lead sponsors included: Health New England, USI Insurance Services, Pignatelli Electric, and Climate Heating and Cooling, Inc.
